Joyful Connections

I was surprised to see that I’ve posted no blog entry since last October! Been nearly overwhelmed with commitments on my time, for sure. Ideas fly through my mind too fast to capture. But today’s post is a delight because it celebrates some truly joyful connections in my life.
On Valentine’s Day, I was interviewed on an online international forum, The Cosmic Prayer Show, live from Britain. Laura Topper, Religious Science practitioner and minister-in-training hosts this hour-long interview show weekly on the New Thought Media Network. So, how did the perfect day to talk about love (Valentine’s Day) line up with this unexpected opportunity? Joyful connections, that’s how.
I’ve offered Living Proof Editorial Services for more than a decade now but my first client precedes even that. Rai Jordan, founder of Higher Vision Institute in Alameda, CA has taught the spiritual practice of visioning for over 20 years and has been my editorial services client for most of that time. Our relationship was a friendship that grew to include a working connection that, in turn, grew into an even deeper friendship. Through visioning with Rai, especially during her New Year’s Visioning Retreat online, I’ve transformed my life into one of greater creativity and greater service than I had ever imagined possible.
The Valentine’s Day interview on the intersections of prayer (New Thought style) and love came from this spectacular relationship with Rai. Late last year, she asked me to proofread a letter she was sending to postpone her appearance on an online interview show. As part of that letter, Rai wanted to suggest other New Thought teachers who might be able to fill the date Rai had to vacate. She asked me if I would like her to include my name in this short list. Oh, yes, yes, indeed!
Show originator and host, Laura Topper, contacted me soon after with open dates in early 2022. Selecting February 14 came in a flash of insight, that AH-HA moment when all things seem to align. Trusting in love as a universal source of good has been a major theme in my life and in my training as a minister. It brought me a major challenge just as I was about to be accredited as a New Thought minister and nearly ended my career before it began. On this show with its international audience, I would have the chance to describe the power of love and how it transformed me in that moment.
Love is the lavish, continual giving of the One Creative Intelligent Presence to its creation. Prayer unifies us with that Presence; it is our essence. We need not worship nor beseech, only celebrate in gratitude and learn conscious action based in peace. Prayer is love in action. Good friends are love in action too. Thank you, Rai.
BTW – I’ll be back on The Cosmic Prayer Show on October 10. Spread the word!
